The project aims to set a new architectural and artistic functions of the two cranes on the Palermo’s harbour. The goal is that the two cranes became a new symbolic place of the city, where the interaction between harbour and city became the new door of the Mediterranean. This project set an organic action capable to restoring the image of a renewed relationship between the city and its harbour and fits within the strategy of the urban revitalization of the Palermo waterfront.
The south crane includes the construction of an outdoor theater with a terrace that becomes a symbol of the new centrality of urban life tied to the harbour. The project for the south crane allows to rethink the relationship between the city and its landscape.
The project for the north crane aims to rethink the relationship between the city of Palermo and its sea, in fact this crane is designed as a container of water’s activities related with culture and leisure. In the north crane we plan many different functions: bar-cafeteria, swimming pool, solarium, fitness area, area for yoga, garden, spaces for reading and art gallery.

…

RIFUNZIONALIZZAZIONE ARTISTICA E ARCHITETTONICA DELLE DUE GRU DEL PORTO DI PALERMO

.

The Project for the New Integrated Complex within the Bologna Railway Station sets a new urban order that interacts with the various elements of the territory. It will represent a new  access to the city and the entire regional and metropolitan system.
Through the New Integrated Complex within the Bologna railway Station, the project aims to link two parts of the city separated by the the railroad’s cutting and will set the connections between two parts of the city that are historically separated: the old town and the Bolognina district.
The settlement of the entrance to the New Railway along the Bridge Matteotti allow to bind the architecture and the city.
The new urban configuration of Independenza Street is flanked, on the western edge, by the canalredevelopment of a section of the Navile canal: this new urban park makes possible the use of the area by pedestrians and cyclists, recovering the historical traces related to the use of the waterways that have characterized theoriginal relationship between the city and its territory.

…

MASTERPLAN DI SVILUPPO URBANO E NUOVA STAZIONE FERROVIARIA DI BOLOGNA

.

LAMEZIA TERME AIRPORT

Description

The project involves the construction of a new airport as a new international gateway in Calabria. Lamezia Terme connects the Tyrrhenian coast to the parks and natural heritage of the area of the Calabria region and the project is based on the traffic forecast for three and a half million passengers.
The project allows the upgrading of the airport and sets out a diverse picture with respect to who comes, who embarks, those who stay and those who live the terminal as a workplace.
The roof is a great source of energy that lights up at night to indicate the presence of the airport during the landing phase. The roof is designed as a sky pierced different  thickness and reduces the mass effect of the building. The circles that dot the roof are functional to the needs of the airport. These holes allow you to see  inside the building and to perceive its different inside spaces as the gardens and the soft shapes of the big hall. Similarly, inside the building, through the holes, you can see the sky.
Inside spaces are organized into two main: the area of the forum, designed as a place defined by sinuous walls in which the services are held to wait before checking in, with the bar, the information points, waiting areas and area of the departures and arrivals governed by the system of boarding piers according to a scan that ease the identification of the gates.

…

Descrizione

The area “ex-Locomotive” is at the entrance of Venice from the mainland, it is a special place where contemporary design can play his challenges and define a new urban place.
The area is a place full of contradictions and fragments of landscape and the project represents a unique opportunity within a particular city. The relationship between nature and artifice determines the sensuality of Venice.
A city whose image is dynamic, measurable through the disorientation of its architectures that create exceptional places into the urban continuum made by roads, Â canals and squares, secret gardens, large and small buildings.
The new urban square in Venice is like a green tattoo that was born from the meeting between the small gardens and the spaces of the lagoon. A paradoxical attempt of the nature to regain possession of herself, giving a face to the functions of the area through a contemporary urban space, a kaleidoscope that allows you to enjoy the beauties of the city.
The area ex-Locomotive is the ideal place for the creation of a vertical input to the right of the Libertà Bridge. The square is a contemporary urban device phenomenological, sensual and changeable. The new plaza is a lifted from the ground and overlooking the city through the large staircase that covers the back of the tower , next to the bridge, marking the entrance to the city. From the roof of the tower there is a fantastic view of the skyline of Venice and the Dolomites, in this way, the building will become one of the main vertical architecture of the city.

…

PAESAGGIO CALEIDOSCOPIO | NUOVA PIAZZA, ALBERGO E PARCHEGGIO MULTIPIANO A VENEZIA

.

LIBITUM

Description

The size of the project is compared both with the historical buildings of the city and both with the new projects planned in the area. The strategy aims to complete these changes stealing time to the old and modern city, giving a new measure to the rhythm of the urban space through the creation of a building representative of theurban identity.
The project interprets the site as a continuation and completion of the Arena park and through the new Auditorium. It defines a link with the Scrovegni Chapel and its surroundings. The Piovego canal will no longer be a separation between this two parts of the city.
The Auditorium, with a principle opposite to that of a common construction, is designed as a compact and primary unit that leaves around him a large open space. The building is a large volume which contains all elements and facilities of the auditorium in a compact and light space. The volume is open on all sides. The structure consists of a network of branches that form a concrete sculptural element tree that supports the large Auditorium.

…

Descrizione

The core of the Nursery and Primary School is conceived as a new layer that overlaps the ancient Roman landscape and became part of this. We decided to preserve the olive grove as a memory with which children can play and, removing as few trees as possible, we build the school in the landscape.
The grid of the olive grove sets the building and defines the pace of the walls in brick. The east and west edges of the building are open to the outside and include new and old landscapes in the spaces of the school.
The learning spaces are shifted and moved along the regular grid and the building is characterized with a variable border between internal and external spaces. The spaces of the school allow to organize teaching moments in the relationship with nature.
To the east, the edge of the building is defined by a system of teaching gardens where is possible to plant fruit trees, flowers and small vegetable gardens teaching. This system is linked with the organization of the green path to the urban park Prato Smeraldo.
The building is full of light and air: the roof is like a three-dimensional fabric, with a design that seems the intertwining of the branches of trees through which filters the light. From the outside, the two schools are perceived as a continuous building, covered by a variable pitched roof that, like a soft blanket backed by dividing walls, let pour down the light from above, through windows facing the sky.

…

PRATO SMERALDO | SCUOLA PRIMARIA E DELL’INFANZIA A ROMA

.

The masterplan for the waterfront of Valencia defines a design approach that deals with the simultaneous presence of infrastructure, housing, historical buildings, public space and temporary uses. The master plan of the harbour is not a separate plan of the city but, rather, a tool that poses the urban design as a tool to integrate the rules of the land use and the flexibility of urban forms linked to differents flows and cross-modality.
The design relates to the different dimensions that characterize this context, taking in account the specificities of a place defined by a rural landscape characterized by the relationship between soil and water. Through a combination of curved design elements, the masterplan joins and sorts the different sizes and uses of the area.
The design of the dock fits in continuity with the urban design and interacts with the urban infrastructures of the new roads that connect the city to the sea. The space in front of the dock connects to the Avenida de France and joins with the new district of the PAI de Grao with buildings placed  in the urban park that stay in the end of the garden Linear Turia. The square facing the sea on which the existing Tinglados connects to the new Passenger Terminal and the park will be built on the eastern pier. So, all the elements of the site are involved in the urban scene and interact on the the new dock.

MASTERPLAN PER IL WATERFRONT DI VALENCIA AMERICA’S CUP

.
